1. I believe there is opportunity in developing a faster and easier way to share pictures with friends after an event besides just selecting the specific ones to send to them.
2. The unmet need is wasted time shuffling through all the pictures to make sure each friend got the pictures they want. Anyone who was sharing pictures at an event could have this need. The need comes from the idea that nobody want to miss out on forgetting a great memory they once had from their youth by missing a picture. This need is somewhat new, with smart phones becoming increasingly more popular. Right now, people are using instant messaging and group texting to share pictures. A more advanced approach are iCloud albums where you can be in albums online with your friends for a certain event. The problem with this is that not everyone has an iPhone. I would say I am about 65% percent an opportunity cost exists.
Interview Number One
3. A possible customer could be my roommate, Melody. We have to share pictures a lot.
4. What is the exact nature of the need?: Melody said that the nature of the need lies in the fact that we are all about maximum efficiency these days and that we are always going to be looking for faster means to accomplish everyday tasks. Time is money.
When do you become aware of the need? Why?: She became aware of the need when she noticed how much storage space unwanted pictures take up in group messages and how she personally doesn't need all of them.
How are you currently addressing your need?: Melody is currently using group messaging as her main way to share photos.
How satisfied are you with this solution?: She is not very satisfied at all and states that it takes up too much space in her phone's memory.
Interview Number Two
3. A possible customer could be our club's historian, Nick.
4. What is the exact nature of the need?: The nature of the need is social media becoming very popular recently and the desire to have a good profile of pictures. Now it is more about the style and feel of pictures rather than the need for the memory of it. Everybody wants to make sure they have all of the options at their disposal in order to choose the best one.
When do you become aware of the need? Why?: He became aware of the need when he would take pictures for events and realized how seriously people took certain angles and lighting into consideration. If they were only interested in holding onto the memory, they wouldn't care too much about the technicalities of the picture.
How are you currently addressing your need?: Nick is currently using google photos to share his pictures. He says this is similar to iCloud but you can reach it on none apple products as well as computers.
How satisfied are you with this solution?: He is pretty satisfied right now. It would be nice if it was a bit faster but there is no problem right now. He states that since people are so obsessed with how the pictures might have turned out that they don't want the picture immediately just in case they don't like it.
Interview Number Three
3. A possible customer could be our club's event manager, Logan.
4. What is the exact nature of the need?: Logan believes that the nature of the need lies in the fact that people are lazy and don't want to have to put in the extra effort to sort through pictures.
When do you become aware of the need? Why?: He became aware of the need when we observed someone going though pictures from an event only to simply give up because there were too many to sort through in the event album.
How are you currently addressing your need?: He likes to use airdrop on the iPhone. This is a way to instantly share multiple pictures with someone without texting it to them.
How satisfied are you with this solution?: Logan enjoys this solution but likes the idea of it being even faster so that the pictures are already on your friend's phone right when you take it.
5. I learned that there was indeed room for my opportunity in the market, but it might not be much. A lot of people say that they are satisfied with the current technology and that an improvement would be nice but it is not necessary. For example, Nick and Logan are satisfied but Melody is not. There are also similar technologies out there similar to my idea like airdrop that would be in the way.
7. There is a small part of my original opportunity still there. I forgot about airdrop which is very similar to my idea. It could be improved upon but it would only be minor improvements. I believe it is more accurate because I would have to go after a more narrow market in order to succeed. So there would have to be better product specifications. In this case, I believe there wasn't really a trade off because I was reminded of certain things I forgot that are essential to my product's success.

3A - Your Entrepreneurship Story
My first big entrepreneurship experience was last semester in a leadership role working as the Vice President of Brotherhood for a business fraternity. My role was to try to think of reasons why we weren't bonding as a whole unit and come up with new solutions. My team organized events with silly activities where they had to compete against each other on teams. Some problems we encountered were lack of interest and unwillingness to try. This could be due to people feeling more distant from the other members in the club as they grow older. These games helped create a sense of community and unity within the organization. I enrolled in this class to expand my knowledge of the business world and think outside the box. I wanted to see business opportunities in a different way. I am also not very interested in being tied down to a 9-5 job every week and entrepreneurship is where I could be my own boss. The picture below is from buying supplies for our retreat this semester.
2A - Bug List
1. At my local Starbucks back home, the drive through is so poorly designed that if I had parked my car to get coffee I won't be able to get out because the drive through line blocks my car in. I believe the why to this bug are poorly executing industrial engineers.
2. Global waste is a huge problem. I have some friends who don't recycle because it is too inconvenient. There needs to be a better system put in place in order to reduce global waste.
3. This summer I have to pay two months of rent even though I'm not staying there. I believe the why to this bug is that the apartment complex doesn't make enough money over the summer to only approve 9 month leases. Or that there isn't a good enough system in place to notify people of current subleases.
4. Most high schools don't prepare you for narrowing down college major paths. Many people are just thrown into deciding what they want to do with their lives at the beginning of college with having no knowledge of the real world possibilities. This is because there are not enough opportunities in high school to shadow real life jobs.
5. I never learned a language growing up and now it is much harder to catch onto other languages. There needs to be more importance set on learning a second language for younger kids.
6. The other day I was running late for an appointment and I'm so used to automatically thinking my friends will see that I am late by tracking my location on the app, Find My Friends, that I thought they would know as well. But of course they don't have my location. The bug is that they don't know if I'm running late or completely forgot the appointment. The why is that there is no way of notifying them without the risk of distracted driving. So if there was a way for people to start sharing their location on the way to the appointment, the office can run more efficiently with all the estimated arrivals.
7. One time I was waiting for an Uber for an extended amount of time because they got lost on the way to pick me up. This is due to the inefficient maps the driver must use from Uber.
8. I waste so much time on Instagram going through posts because they are not in periodical order. So if I go on after a while I might see a bunch of posts from the same person right next to each other. This is because the app is set up to put posts you might like more often at the top if the screen.
9. It is frustrating how textbooks can be so expensive for a class when sometimes you don't even use them when the teacher says you have to get them. This might be because the teacher isn't away of the resources students have now to skip past reading the textbook in order to save money.
10. Taking photos at events and then having to look back over at them and send them to everyone is such and waste of time. The reason is that there is no immediate way of sharing the picture instantaneously with everyone.
11. Arguments over dirty dishes is always a disaster with my roommates. The reason is that there was no initial agreement set on between the residents.
12. Selling my student football ticket is usually annoying and hard to do because there is no formal program to sell it on.
13. I love to go hiking and want to go hiking more but none of my friends like hiking. The reason is because there is no organization for this specific purpose where I can meet people.
14. There wasn't much empathy this semester for the work everyone on e-board did and that is because there is no way of truly understanding our point of view until you have experienced it for yourself.
15. A lot of people who need therapy don't get it because it is too expensive, and this is because it is hard for people to justify paying money to someone just for them to listen to their problems. They don't see the value in it.
16. The other day when I was checking out at Walmart, I was getting frustrated because there were a lot of customers in line and only 2 checkout lines open but like 10 empty checkout lines. This is because many of the workers are not as motivated to help due to the minimum wage rate.
17. If I am ever looking for a specific item at Walmart, I get very lost and it takes me forever to find the item due to the size of the store. This is because are no maps or search stations for customers to find which section a specific item could be in.
18. Sometimes I get really annoyed when I buy something for one price at a store, then go to the next and find it cheaper there. This is because there needs to get a universal app where you can compare prices across stores for the same item.
19. The other day I was driving through a traffic circle and was perplexed at how many people had no idea what they were doing. This is because the Florida Driver's License test is so easy now, no one has to learn that and practice it.
20. Sometimes I'll go grocery shopping and miss out on money-saving buy-on-get-ones. The reason for this is because I don't get a notification on my phone for this type of thing.
Reflection
This assignment really challenged me to look at the world around me differently and determine what is wrong with it and what could be improved. I mainly struggled with finding the root cause of the problem because it goes so far back to the beginning.
